Luxury Lime, Basil and Mandarin Scented Candles are blended with top notes of lime and mandarin orange along and a peppery basil heart.
Limes originated in the Indonesian archipelago or the nearby mainland of Asia. Arabian traders may have taken limes from India to the eastern Mediterranean countries and Africa about 1000 CE. Limes were introduced to the western Mediterranean countries by returning Crusaders in the 12th and 13th centuries. Mandarins oranges are probably descended from wild oranges that grew in northeast India as long as 3,000 years ago. Basil has origins in India, but the herb has been cultivated for over 5,000 with its reach spreading to all corners of the globe. There are some indications that basil may have originated even farther east than India with ancient records from 807 A.D. suggesting that sweet basil was used in the Hunan region of China at that time.
The 220g size luxury lime, basil and mandarin scented candles has a single wick with a burn time of approximately 40 hours.
The large 900g size also in a glass tank has four wicks.
All candles are made using the highest quality mineral wax to achieve a long, clean and even burn, and are handmade in England.
