These Luxury Pomegranate Scented Candles are blended from rich juicy pomegranate top notes and spiced with amber and woody base notes. The ancient Greeks believed that the pomegranate tree sprang from the blood of Dionysus, the god of wine. The fruit was also associated with Persephone who, as a result of eating it, was forced by Pluto to return to the underworld for a third of each year. After this period, she came back to earth, signaling the beginning of spring. The pomegranate thus became a symbol of rejuvenation and eternal life. Influenced by the Persephone myth, the early Christians began associating the pomegranate with the notion of resurrection.
The 220g size luxury pomegranate scented candles has a single wick with a burn time of approximately 40 hours.
The large 900g size also in a glass tank has four wicks.
All candles are made using the highest quality mineral wax to achieve a long, clean and even burn, and are handmade in England.
