Is Syrian glass dishwasher and microwave safe?
We recommend washing Syrian glass by hand to preserve its clarity and colour for many years. Glassware should not be used in the microwave.

Historians believe that glass production in the region dates back more than 2,000 years, with Syrian artisans developing techniques that influenced glassmakers throughout Europe and the Middle East. Today, despite the many challenges faced by the country's traditional crafts, skilled makers continue to preserve these remarkable methods, producing beautiful hand-blown glass that honours this rich cultural heritage.
Each piece begins as molten glass heated to an extraordinary temperature before being gathered onto the end of a blowpipe. The artisan then shapes the glass entirely by hand, using a combination of breath, carefully timed movements and simple hand tools. Creating balanced forms requires years of experience, and every finished piece reflects the skill and judgement of the individual maker.
