Extra Large Seagrass Storage Basket

Extra Large Seagrass Storage Basket
This very generous Extra Large Seagrass Storage Basket is great for storage of all kinds. It is strong enough to hold logs, with short sturdy handles.
This basket is hand woven by women in Bangladesh using traditional methods with locally sourced Seagrass.
Extra Large Seagrass Storage Basket is 60 cm high x 90 cm top width x 45 cm base diameter although as the basket is handmade dimensions might vary slightly.
Our ethically sourced seagrass baskets celebrate craftsmanship, sustainability and timeless design - practical storage pieces that feel as beautiful as they are useful.
Handwoven by skilled artisans using traditional techniques passed down through generations, each basket is made from sustainably harvested seagrass.
The fibres are gathered, dried in the sun and tightly woven by hand, creating a wonderfully tactile texture and warm, organic tone that softens both contemporary and country interiors alike.
Seagrass is a fast-growing, renewable material, harvested with minimal environmental impact. Choosing natural fibres over synthetic storage is a small but meaningful step towards a more conscious home and these baskets speak quietly of slow craft, rural communities and thoughtful production.
These baskets are not simply decorative, they are beautifully practical. Their sturdy woven structure makes them ideal for everyday use throughout the house such as storing throws and cushions beside the sofa, organising toys or magazines in the sitting room or displaying indoor plants with rustic charm.
The natural variation in colour and weave ensures that no two pieces are ever identical, a hallmark of genuine handmade craftsmanship.
Our baskets are sourced through suppliers who prioritise fair working conditions and ethical production. By supporting artisan communities, these pieces help sustain traditional weaving skills while providing reliable income to makers and their families.
The result is storage that feels authentic and not factory uniform but full of character.
Slight irregularities in shape, tone and weave are part of their charm and proof of their handmade origins.
Neutral yet characterful, seagrass complements painted furniture, antique woods, linen upholstery and modern spaces alike.
