Celebrate the playful artistry and timeless craftsmanship of Bordallo Pinheiro ceramics, a collection that has delighted homes around the world for generations. Founded in Portugal in the late nineteenth century by the artist Rafael Bordallo Pinheiro, the brand is known for its bold use of colour and imaginative designs inspired by nature and tradition. Each piece carries the unmistakable character of Portuguese ceramics and brings joy and originality to the table.
The most iconic designs feature cabbages, leaves, fruits and animals that are instantly recognisable and brimming with personality. Whether it is a cabbage bowl that transforms everyday dining into an event or a whimsical platter shaped like a pumpkin or watermelon, these ceramics combine humour with artistry and practicality.
They are as beautiful to display as they are to use making them a favourite of collectors and entertainers alike.
Every item is made in Portugal using traditional methods that ensure durability and quality. Skilled artisans hand-finish the details so no two pieces are ever quite the same. Subtle variations in glaze and texture highlight the craftsmanship and celebrate the individuality of each creation. From serving bowls and salad plates to platters and jugs, the range covers a wide variety of tableware that adds charm to both everyday meals and special occasions.
Bordallo Pinheiro ceramics are more than functional tableware, they are conversation starters that bring warmth and humour to gatherings. Their enduring popularity comes from their ability to balance tradition with fun and to transform the simplest dishes into something memorable. Whether you are building a collection or choosing a single statement piece, these ceramics will bring character and colour into your home for years to come.
